black and white set incl. cardigan

Hey everyone,

this blog is about a huge project I had going on for 3 month last year. I was planing and knitting the cardigan and at the same time made some beads with similar patterns fitting to it.

A lot more pictures below!

So let's start with the cardigan. I planned every knitting stitch in an excel sheet, where I marked every cell in the color it should become. I also integrated the size of and the cut of the cardigan in the excel planing. ( It's only the fourth sweater I knitted, so I am really proud of the result 😁.)

The next picture shows the beads I made. They may look simple, but most of the black beads are encased with transparent glass under the white decor. It is necessary so that the black does not creep violett or blue color into the white and messes up the contrast. You can see in the smaller beads, where I didn't encase, what I mean. (black glas is actually a dense violett. If there is only a small layer of it, it is transparent violett again.)
The transparent encasing leaves me with another problem: white is getting transparent when melting.. so how can I "paint" a pattern... well, I guessed sometimes better and sometimes worse.

The following pictures show the beads with the similar pattern in the cardigan. They are simplified, because the bead surface is much smaller, so the whole pattern would not fit on the surface. Some patterns got a little wonky, but it doesn't matter they are still nice. Even though I have to practice my stringer control.. practice, practice, practice... =)

For this bead I had actually a second one, which broke. That's why it is in the bracelet.

In this check patterned beads and the striped below you can see what I meant is happening, when the bead is not encased.

This bead got too big for my taste, but it makes an excellent clasp.

An here you can see both fronts of the pendant.
